NYC Restaurant Week: How to Book the Hard-to-Get Tables
Twice a year, hundreds of New York restaurants serve $30 to $60 prix fixe menus. Most are easy to book. For the few hard-to-get ones, it pays to know when bookings open.

§ 01 · How it works
Restaurant Week, briefly.
NYC Tourism + Conventions, every winter (January–February) and summer (July–August).
Prix fixe lunch or dinner at $30, $45 or $60. Each restaurant picks its menus and meal times.
On each restaurant's own platform: Resy, OpenTable or SevenRooms. There's no single booking site.
Summer 2026 ran July 20 to Aug 16; bookings opened July 14. Sources: NYC Tourism + Conventions, Time Out.
§ 02 · The plan
How to get a hard table.
- Watch for the datesLast summer, bookings opened six days before Restaurant Week began. Winter 2027 dates aren't out yet; we'll post them here the day they are.
- Know each restaurant's windowYour Restaurant Week night opens on the restaurant's normal schedule, for example 14 days ahead at 10 AM at COQODAQ.
- Set an alert for the nights you wantTables don't all open at once. For last summer's Restaurant Week dates, we saw 4,838 new tables at the 35 New York restaurants we watch, counting each day's release.
